There is hope in despair.

Isaiah 40:31 - view the movie here

In these difficult times God doesn't abandon anybody who calls out to Him, although at times it may seem like He does. In general, it's our society that has turned it's back on God's morals and values. The last decades we've been witnessing an enormous decline in faith.

An increase in materialism also plays an important role in this decline. An abuse of church services has also caused our society to mock and scorn the image and glory of God. In other words, many have tossed the baby away with the bath water. When we say 'baby', we are of course referring to the Christ child, Jesus, who came to earth as a baby, but grew to be man, was raised from the dead and now rules as Lord. This backsliding from faith has led also to a moral downfall, e.g. lack of submission and respect for authority. Under the cover of 'progression', society has moved forward 'de-gressive' values for itself. The current system lays down it's own standards for society and tries to lull people to sleep with 'bread and games'. People have banned God from society and have determined their own moral standard. This proud attitude leads to downfall, so we can calmly state that backsliding proceeds downfall.
God, who is perfectly just, cannot turn a blind eye to either personal or collective sin. He will determine the time and the manner in which He will remove His hand of protection from society. For thousands of years there has been a spiritual battle going on between God and Satan. Satan, the source and the cause of all evil, is given permission in certain situations to work evil, often in cooperation with people who live under his rule. The devil plays a sordid part in this world and with his lies he seeks to bring charges against people before God. He uses lies to deceive people. Lies such as: 'God and Satan don't exist' etc. God will decide when Satan's rule ends, and that will happen at the coming of the Thousand Year Reign of Peace. Even though society now suffers badly under these present circumstances, there is hope!

A human being can survive a couple of days without water and even longer without food, but he can't survive a day without hope. Hope of what? Hope of a better and fairer existence in heaven and perhaps also on earth. The disasters we experience now, are the signs of the last days that have been predicted long beforehand by the prophets in the Bible, among whom Jesus Christ, the Son of God. These signs have also to do with Jesus' return to earth. Because, if there is a beginning, there is also an end. And better and end full of terror than terror without end.

Jesus' second coming will bring a Kingdom on earth that is characterized by peace and justice. However, God is also love and He proved that by voluntarily sacrificing Jesus for our personal sin. The Bible says that nobody has greater love than he who gives himself for another. God invites you to come to Him. What will you do?

The day of the Lord

The day of the Lord takes place in the period before Jesus' return, which is also called the 'great tribulation'. Both the literal day that Jesus returns and the short period before that can be seen as the day of the Lord. It is a short period of intense trouble in the last days of this world system. Also during this time the fall of Babylon will take place. "The fall of Babylon" refers to the downfall of the world system that has put it's trust in itself and hasn't taken God's standards, values and love into account.

This world system is based on pride, recklessness, witchcraft, idolatry, divorce etc. (Revelation 18:7-8) Message to everyone who has a good relationship with God.

The darkness some of the prophets talk about, is most probably the result of a nuclear war.

Matthew 24:21-22

Ezekiel 7:10

Joel 2:2

This will be a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness.

Joel 1:15-17

Alas for that day!
For the day of the LORD is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Has not the food been cut off
before our very eyes—
joy and gladness
from the house of our God?
The seeds are shriveled
beneath the clods.
The storehouses are in ruins,
the granaries have been broken down,
for the grain has dried up.

Isaiah 2:12
The LORD Almighty has a day in store
for all the proud and lofty,
for all that is exalted
(and they will be humbled).

Isaiah 24:1-4
See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth
and devastate it;
he will ruin its face
and scatter its inhabitants—
it will be the same
for priest as for people,
for the master as for his servant,
for the mistress as for her servant,
for seller as for buyer,
for borrower as for lender,
for debtor as for creditor.
The earth will be completely laid waste
and totally plundered.
The LORD has spoken this word.

The earth dries up and withers,
the world languishes and withers,
the heavens languish with the earth.

Malachi 4

“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves."

The Bible also has much to say about the battle for Israel on the day of the Lord.

Zechariah 14:1-4

A day of the LORD is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.

Zechariah 14:12

This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

The End, Nuclear War (not for sensitive viewers)

Iran! Also Turkey etc…?

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

The Thousand Year Reign of Peace: Jesus Christ Reigns! 100% security

The Thousand Year Reign of Peace follows the great tribulation, or the day of the Lord. This Kingdom starts when Jesus returns to earth and it is characterized by genuine peace and justice. Satan and his demons are locked up during this period, so they can no longer deceive people to stir up mischief. The world's population will have decreased drastically at the start of these thousand years of peace.

Isaiah 2:4

He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.

Isaiah 11:9

They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 32:1-7

See, a king will reign in righteousness
and rulers will rule with justice.
Each one will be like a shelter from the wind
and a refuge from the storm,
like streams of water in the desert
and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.

Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed,
and the ears of those who hear will listen.
The fearful heart will know and understand,
and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear.
No longer will the fool be called noble
nor the scoundrel be highly respected.
For fools speak folly,
their hearts are bent on evil:
They practice ungodliness
and spread error concerning the LORD;
the hungry they leave empty
and from the thirsty they withhold water.
Scoundrels use wicked methods,
they make up evil schemes
to destroy the poor with lies,
even when the plea of the needy is just.

The Bible also speaks about the restoration of Israel.

Joel 2:18-20

Then the LORD was jealous for his land
and took pity on his people.

The LORD replied to them:

“I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil,
enough to satisfy you fully;
never again will I make you
an object of scorn to the nations."

Isaiah 4:2

In that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel.

Isaiah 2:2-4

Habakkuk 2:14

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."
